I joined the Cody Elks in 1999, immediately getting involved as the Lodge Inner Guard. Serving in several lodge chairs, I became the Exalted Ruler in 2004 and later served again when asked. I was asked to take over the position of Lodge Secretary in 2011 and served for 9 years. I served as District Deputy in 2005. I decided to take a chance and ran for 3rd Vice President in 2007, being elected I served at the Wyoming Elks Association President in 2010. When a long-time State Secretary/Treasurer decided to retire, the Association decided to make separate positions for the State Secretary and the State Treasurer. I was elected as State Secretary in 2018, a position I still serve today. I have served on multiple committees at the state and local levels. At the Spring 2024 Convention, I was honored to be selected as Distinguished Elk of the Year.
